my keyboard smells like onions

"The beauty of the world has two edges, one of laughter, one of anguish, cutting the heart asunder." - Virginia Woolf
remember how i had a post on life and onions? life is like an onion; you peel it off one layer at a time, and sometimes you weep. today, i lived life.
i got coerced into peeling onions this morning, but somehow after finishing my intended task, i got coerced into slicing them up to fry. two minutes later, i weeped. it was then i realized how stupid i was, exposing my cornea to the giggly sulphur molecules bursting out, flavorful, with every slice i make.
i paused the knife in mid-air, and stared at the person across the room who coerced me into onion slavery with murderous intent. she shot back a visual retort, slanting her eyelids into long sharp slits. i put down my knife in resignation, walked out of the kitchen and dug out a pair of swimming goggles in my closet. what to do?
my goggles smoked up after a long wear. in a bid to regain clear gray vision through the goggle lenses, i(unfortunately left my brain in the closet, and) rubbed my eyes and goggle with my oniony fingers.
*groan*
i am not going to endure any chuckling regarding my goggle-wearing, onion-slicing stint. so don't.
sometimes... you'd wish there were goggles like these to fall back on in life. when you slice through life's sad little onion and your eyes begin to sting, a handy pair of goggles could be just the right thing.
